Sport and the Environment Day

Eugene is a very environmentally conscious city so we will showcase the efforts by the LOC to make Eugene 08 as climate friendly as possible. The day’s activities will highlight the solar stage, the Safeway Track Town Power Station (people pedaling to generate battery power), and our waste management plans.
 
Festival Hours:                  10:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
 
Hayward Field opens:       10:30 a.m.
 
On the Festival Stage:      
10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.       Annette Peters PSA and information on sustainability; 
11:30 a.m. 10:00 p.m.         On the Video Screen - live coverage of the meet simulcast from Hayward Field and footage from the Safeway Track Town Power Station
10:00 p.m. - 10:45 p.m.         Hip Hop Dance Performance
 
At The Starting Block:      Nike ReUSE A SHOE collection
9:30 a.m.                                Walking tour – Alton Baker Pond
 
Other Activities:                  Tree Climbing by the Pacific Tree Climbing Institute
Citizens cycling to create energy at the Track Town Power Station presented by Safeway
5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.           Autograph sessions with 2004 Olympic medalist Lauryn Williams at the Johnson & Johnson booth
Competition: 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Hayward Field opens at 10:30 a.m.)
Free Spectator Shuttles: 9 a.m. to noon, 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 to midnight
Autzen Stadium, 2727 Leo Harris Pkwy, Eugene
South Eugene High School, 400 E 19th, Eugene
Shuttles will run every 10-15 minutes.
